The Wallingford Rod and Gun Club offers its members, their families, and guests a unique outdoor experience. Whether your pursuits are trophy trout, pheasants, archery targets, or clay pigeons, we can meet your needs. Founded in 1935, Wallingford Rod and Gun Club continues to be one of the premier clubs in the state of Connecticut. Seventy-nine years and stronger than ever!

About our Club

Archery

The archery range provides a range of targets to improve your skill.  With box and 3D targets for field points and broadheads. Please remember to sign in at the clubhouse before heading to the range.

Hunting

We offer pheasant hunting in the fall with stocked birds to members with club issued bird tags.  Turkey and deer hunting is also available with the appropriate permit.  For more information please contact Phil Paradayco, the Private Preserve Chairman.

Dog Training

We have a regulated dog training area for year round training with live birds.  You must have a valid Connecticut hunting license to use this facility.  You must sign in the Dog Training Book (located in the club house).  This regulated area is a 10 acre piece located in the northeast section of the Orchard.  We also have a dog training area on the very north end of the pond for water work and conditioning.  Questions about the dog training areas should be directed to Rocco Iasparra at 203-903-3621 or chuckerri@hotmail.com.

Trap

We have two trap fields and an active trap shooting committee.  The trap field is open on Wednesday nights 6-9 pm and Sunday mornings 9-noon.  Fees: $6 per round for non-members, $4 per round for members.  Trap Your Own is available on the upper field to members and up to three guests.  Please see the bylaws for rules and more information.

Fishing

The pond is open to members only.  Stocking is complete for the spring and the next stocking will be in October.  Please remember to sign out any fish you catch.

Shooting Range

We have a 65-yard shooting range featuring covered positions with rests. The range is open to members and up to three guests (the number of guests is reduced during hunting season).  Please sign in at the clubhouse and clean up after yourselves.  Cameras are in use and monitoring the facility.
