Wallingford Rod & Gun Club will be hosting a Sporting Clays
shoot for the Connecticut Yankee Council, Boy Scouts of America.
This is a fund raiser for the Boy Scouts and help will be needed trapping the targets for the event.
The Scouting 'Outreach Program" is where the Boy Scouts give back to the community. Over 300 youths were able to have a camping experience that they (their parents)could not otherwise afford. These Camping Scholarships get kids that need a break a chance to enjoy a little bit of the summer.
For anyone that I did not have a chance to explain this to, the
Club is donating the use of the Sporting Clays field. The Clubhouse
and Kitchen are a rental.
The
cost of targets will be paid by the BSA (my estimate of the net to
the Club is $500 - 600).
I will need between 8 and 14 Club members to support the 11 station
shoot. We expect between 45 and 100 shooters. If we have a smaller
attendance I will have the trapper walk with the shooters. With a larger
attendance, a trapper will be on each station.
Although they have not been received yet, each volunteer will receive
a shotshell belt and pouch. I believe it's a Bob Allen with the BSA
Council Logo screened on. I am also giving several to the monthly raffle.
The shooting time would be from 8am to
3pm; this is an estimate.
If you have any questions, please e-mail or call me.Thank you for considering this request.
